The percentage of overweight children in western society has increased by almost 20% in the last ten years. Discuss the causes and resolutions of this disturbing trend.

According to some people in the last decade a 20% incline in the percentage of obese children has been witnessed which is a disturbing trend. The purpose of this essay is to outline the major causes of this problem and to suggest some remedial workable measures.

The most likely culprit here is eating habits of youth. Over the years the fast-food chain restaurants have influenced the food habits of children. They tend to eat burgers, Hotdogs from McDonalds, KFC etcetera instead of green vegetables to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This problem can also be attributed to the change in lifestyle of children. Now a days most of the kids stay indoors playing video games or watching TV which seem to have reduced their physical activity which may result in making youngsters overweight and out of shape.

However, there are some workable solutions to these problems. An obvious one would be encouraging children to consume a balanced diet. Some people believe that parents are responsible for the heath of their kids and they should make sure that the kids eat the food items that contain all the vitamins, proteins etcetera. Another effective measure would be sports clubs for children at educational institutes. The youngsters should be motivated by parents, schools and colleges to take part in athletic clubs so that they can keep themselves fit.

To sum up, getting children into sports and healthy eating lifestyle can work wonders to keep our your fit and healthy and fit which can put a dent in the increasing portion of overweight youngsters.
