Q.1 What is the meaning of IELTS?
Ans. IELTS means: International English Language Testing System
Q.2 How many English Language skills are tested in IELTS test?
Ans. Four skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
Q.3 Who conduct the IELTS test.
Ans. There are two examining bodies to conduct the IELTS test, IDP and BC (British Council).
Q.4 Which examining body is best, IDP or BC (British Council)?
Ans. There is no difference between them, both are same in terms of the examiners and marking.
IDP and BC (British Council) only conduct the IELTS test but they do not compile the test. All the IELTS tests conducted by IDP and BC are prepared by Cambridge English Language Assessment, who is also the co-owner of the IELTS test.
Q.5 How the IELTS test is scheduled?  
Ans. Reading, writing and listening tests are scheduled on the same day. Speaking test is scheduled either before, after or on the same day as the other tests.
Q.6 Which type of English is accepted in the IELTS test?
Ans. In speaking you can use any accent British, American or Australian. In the writing test you must not mix the spellings of US and UK.

Ans. No, there is no refreshment break in listening, reading and writing tests. These are all conducted together in 2 Hours and 40 Minutes.

Ans. No, you cannot carry your cell phone in the examination center of IELTS test.
Q.10 Can a color-blind person appear in the IELTS test?
Ans. Yes, a color-blind person appears in the IELTS test.
Q. 11 How the General training IELTS differs?
Ans. All candidates take same speaking and listening test. General training IELTS test differs only in reading and writing.
Q.12. How many times can I appear in the IELTS test?
Ans. There is no limit. You can appear in it as many times as you want.
Q.13. is it must to use pencil in the IELTS test?
Ans. You can use either pen or pencil in the writing test. You must use pencil in the reading and listening test. Do not forget to take eraser with you.
Q.14 Can I keep my wrist watch in my IELTS test?
Ans. No, you cannot keep your watch in any of the IELTS tests.
